arctic cooler freezer 13 pro help

Hi,

I bought the arctic cooler freezer 13 pro three years ago, over the past few weeks the 50mm fan has started sporadically buzzing and vibrating and it can be quite noisy.

I took it out this morning and gave it a clean and now it is constantly buzzing and vibrating, it only stops when I use speedfan to keep it at 40% / 900 RPM

Arctic's website says it has a six year warranty, but I don't think I can RMA it as Arctic's website (flowchart) http://www.arctic.ac/eu_en/warranty-procedure says I need to return it to the dealer and the dealer says it's out of warranty.

I don't think the 50mm fan can be opened up or oiled and the 120mm fan won't run alone unless it's plugged into the 50mm fan.

Does it sound like a bearing issue?
Has anyone successfully returned something to Arctic?
Has anyone else had a problem with it and fixed it?

I guess my options are

1. Buy a new cooler
2. Jam the 50mm fan so it's stops spinning :eek:

3. Try to open the 50mm at the risk of breaking it
4. Pester Arctic until I get a response...

Can you afford £15-20 for a new cooler?

I like option 1 but with a new option 5 which is chuck it in the bin.

I think it might be option 1.

Cooler Master Hyper 412S

and

Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO 4

I have a Antec Dark Fleet DF10 Mid Tower Case and 2x Corsair 4GB DDR3 1333MHz

It's quite a snug fit with the arctic, probably about 1cm between the cooler and the case.

Not fussed about colour tbh.

Excellent choice! You will find we are more active in the UK, so should you have any concerns, we are infinitely easier to get hold of!
