lo,

Noticed they are in stock again. However, the Akasa Thermal adhesive is not. Is the artic thermal stuff that bad? Would you say the product is total useless without third party tape?

Also I read on some review that there are aren't enough ram sinks for the voltage thingys do i need to buy more?

I'm interested in this, does anyone know where to get VRM Heatsinks from?

I've got the Rev 1 but I'm looking to stick the Rev 2 on and fit some cooling to the regulators and mossfets.

I had no problems with the S1 v1 on my X1900XT. I thoroughly cleaned the ram chips with ArctiClean first and then after putting the heatsinks on, left a heavy book resting on them for half and hour.

Well I have ordered it now, went for the additional fan kit for it as well! Hope the thermal tape you get with it actually sticks! Ill post back results when it gets delivered on weds

Arctic say you don't need a heat sink on the voltage regulator's for nvidia cards.

I fitted the Accelero S1 Rev. 2 on my 7800gt a few months ago and never put anything on the voltage regulator and it worked fine.

However, being more aware of this issue, the heatsink that comes with the Accelero S1, I will cut it up into three pieces so that the vr's on the 8800gt are cooled.

Clean the gunk off.( Akasa tim cleaner)

Clean it again.(Akasa again)

Clean it again , to be sure.( Iso Alcohol)

When sticking new ramsinks on ; press on and hold for 30sec (reasnoble pressure)

The above worked for me - all stuck and have stayed stuck!:D

Turbo fan module is nice and quiet.( wave goodbye to 3 slots though)

yeh I got that turbo fan ordered to, does it reduce temps by much more?

I only have my G card and X-fi card so as long as they can still fit in I dont mind if i lose 3 slots.

I had no problems fitting this to my 8800GT at all. Used Akasa timclean and thoroughally cleaned and dried the Ram chips.

The provided adhesive tape on the ramsinks is more than adequete, I just pushed down on them hard for 2-3 secs and its been fine.

To be honest people who have issues with the provided adhesive material just are not cleaning the ramsinks well enough, leaving them greasy so it just doesnt stick properly.

I have no Ramsinks on my Voltage regulators since there wernt any. With the turbo module blowing air directly onto them they stay nice and cool.
