Does this come with pre-applied thermal compoud? I read a review somewhere that it does, do I still use the arctic silver 5 on the cpu? sorry kidna newb but never had arctic cooler before

Leave the stuff that comes on the Arctic Freezer

You dont need to apply anymore

Yeah it does, MX1 thermal paste which is as good as AS5.

BTW your sig is far too big, 400x75 and 20kb max.

Just keep it for future use. If your into computers, you'll get through it eventually... after a few years

But yeah, just use the preapplied MX-1.

The stuff it comes with is quality. I was a little weary and had my AS5 on standby - but it worked out just fine.

It's been getting to 58 degrees while getting maxed, which was quite scary.

Mine arrived today and I was about to ask whether or not I should leave the MX1 paste on... Guess I should... lol I guess my AS5 will have to wait for another build

Mine arrived today, and I only ordered 17:00 yesterday. Works absolutly great considering the circumstances:

Motherboard 47 °C (86 °F)
CPU 58 °C (97 °F)
Aux 38 °C (84 °F)
GPU 44 °C (91 °F)
GPU Ambient 43 °C (88 °F)
WDC WD3200JD-22KLB0 44 °C (93 °F)

After Installation
Motherboard 30 °C (86 °F)
CPU 36 °C (97 °F)
Aux 29 °C (84 °F)
GPU 33 °C (91 °F)
GPU Ambient 31 °C (88 °F)
WDC WD3200JD-22KLB0 34 °C (93 °F)

Thats in an old case too! So It'll probably be better once I get a new case.

i got the thermaltake soprano case with window, needed the money elsewhere so had to save some moneys on case otherwise would have got a more expensive case, reading the reviews it should be fine

how quiet is the Freezer 64 Pro?

I'm getting an Athlon 64 X2 4200+ and will be using it in a music studio, so noise is a priority

Audible at full speed, but turn in down to 70-80% with speedfan and you cannot hear it.
