Arctic Cooling Freezer 64 Pro CPU Cooler

Rig is all set up and built.

CPU temp at idle: 22 degrees
at 100% load: 34 degrees

AMD X2 4400+ in a Stacker 810 :D

SiriusB

Is anyone who has fitted one of these coolers and rotated it 90 degrees able to post any pics ?
I will be doing it soon when I get the last parts for my new build and wondered how secure it was when you have rotated the clip.
Cheers.

What case did you op for mate?

**Update**

Mine arrived today, and I only ordered 17:00 yesterday. Works absolutly great considering the circumstances:

Before Installation
Motherboard 47 °C (86 °F)
CPU 58 °C (97 °F)
Aux 38 °C (84 °F)
GPU 44 °C (91 °F)
GPU Ambient 43 °C (88 °F)
WDC WD3200JD-22KLB0 44 °C (93 °F)

After Installation
Motherboard 30 °C (86 °F)
CPU 36 °C (97 °F)
Aux 29 °C (84 °F)
GPU 33 °C (91 °F)
GPU Ambient 31 °C (88 °F)
WDC WD3200JD-22KLB0 34 °C (93 °F)

Thats in an old case too! So It'll probably be better once I get a new case.
thats it im getting one now!

Quick question about this cooler, I am going to be doing my new build probably tonight and was going to use Arctic Silver 5 on my cpu and clean the cooler off with Isopropyl alcohol. Do I need to apply AS5 onto the cpu heat spreader and the AF64 or just the CPU ?
Thanks.

I have just fitted the freezer 64 pro on a Athlon 64 San Diego S939 and the heatsink does not cover the whole CPU. I thought to get the best cooling the CPU was to be totally covered by the heatsink, or am I being thick (probably the latter).
CPU temp idle 34 celsius, oc'd at 2.4GHz
mobo temp idle 36 celsius, A8N32 Sli Deluxe
To answer Do11's question: just leave the pre-applied TIM on the freezer 64 pro, you dont need anymore on the CPU.

My mistake I am talkin rubbish re: above post.
With the AMD CPU's the chip is in the middle section of the heat spreader so the Arctic freezer 64 pro does the job a treat.
btw I have just oc'd my 3700+ San Diego CPU to 2.75GHz from stock 2.2GHz and the freezer pro is keeping it at a 32 celsius idle temp, not bad me thinks.

I picked one of these up today from OcUK and am another who can atest to how effective they are. I instantly lost 10C of the temps.

For removing the original thermal paste I brought a pack of ArctiClean Remover and Purifier at the same time, £5 from OcUK. It works great, as an added bonus your PC smells of Citrus for about an hour afterwards.

If you're talking about fitting a new Freezer 64 on a used CPU for the first time:
Clean the old gunk off the CPU with IPA and fit the heatsink with the pre-applied thermal compound.

If you're talking about fitting a new Freezer 64 on a new CPU :
Fit the heatsink with the pre-applied thermal compound.

If you're talking about fitting a used Freezer 64 on a used CPU:
Clean the old gunk off the CPU & heatsink with IPA and apply some Arctic Silver 5 on the CPU and fit the Freezer 64.

Hope this helps!
