Well going to get one of these for new cpu .How easy are they to fit with mb already in case? Will i have any problems doing it in case ,has anyone fitted one to a asus m2n-mx(am2)board .Just asking because seen some people have problems installing them but they look very good for the money thanks.
Any tips would be greatfull.

Mine installed without any trouble, very easy no need (in my case anyway s939) to remove the M/B.

just make sure the fan is facing the front of the case you will be fine

As the above poster stated, just make sure you have it facing the right way to blow the hot air out the back of the case.
It's an excellent cooler, however I had a severe hard time fitting it, maybe I just suck but it was the hardest cooler I have ever had to mount.
Once it's on however it's an awesome cooler for the money, gets my temps around 35c idle and about 50c when Orphus is running.
Thats on a badly ventalated case with a X2 4200 @ 2.5ghz 1.45V

I had a hard time fitting it as well. Had to remove the mobo and apply a lot of force (I was quite worried about crushing the core tbh)

Its a good cooler though - My opteron's sitting at 23 degrees at the moment.

The Socket 775 variant of it is very easy to fit.

I've seen numerous cases where temps drop from anything as high as 80c to 35-40c after removing the stock Intel cooler and installing an Artic Cooling Freezer.

Same as above, had a terrible time fitting mine when i had an A64, and i took my mobo out, its unbelievable how much force you have to apply to fasten it, took me bloody ages to fasten it, i nearly gave up as i must have been on for about half hr or so, and the mobo was tipping up as i had to really force it down, so be best to take it out of the case and fit it, otherwise when you have to really force it down your gona bend the mobo seen as its on stands and probably crack the tracks thus buggering it as it has no support underneath.

It really can be a nightmare to install at times so here's my tried and tested method of fitting it:

1. Ensure the lever is horizontal in the unlock position.

2. Fit the non-lever clip side onto the CPU retention bracket.

3. Use your fingers to make sure the clip is properly on and is properly flush onto the heatsink retention bracket notches.

4. Now that one side of the clips is on the CPU retention bracket you'll likely find that the copper heatsink part is often slightly angled on the CPU (almost digging into it) but it needs to be flush on the CPU so keep your fingers on the clip to make sure it doesn't come off and slide the whole heatsink so it's heading towards the other side of the retention bracket. You might have to wiggle it a little. Until it's flush with the CPU you won't be able to move onto the next step.

5. The other clip with the lever will now be loose and can be fitted onto the retention bracket clip but if it isn't loose then wiggle the heatsink so it drops down. You might have to repeat 4 above again if force is required to push the clip into place.

6. Ensure both clips are properly fitted and pull the lever round so it locks into place.

7. Job done give yourself a pat on the back! ;)

DO NOT USE FORCE AT ANY TIME AS IT IS NOT NECESSARY!!!

:D

as good a cooler as this is, the mounting is a severe pain.

On first fitting i had to apply an awful amount of force to get it in place and then 10wks down the line the mobo mount snapped.

Once i got that sorted i intended on putting the freezer back on, but i gave up and am back on stock cooling for the mo

Which way is the latch?
my cpu plug has the latch vertically will this mean the fan will face horizontally?

If yours is oriented like the following you can attach the Freezer 64 Pro so it's blowing hot air towards the back case fan (optimal):

If it's oriented like the following then it'll be blowing hot air towards the memory/PSU (not so good):
