Hey all,

I have a quick question to ask you. Im fairly new at building pc's and im getting my components on monday.

My question is i have ordered a arctic cooling freezer 7 heatsink and it comes with thermal paste already on. Is this paste any good or is it worth replacing with arctic silver?

Also maybe a silly question but does that mean i do not have to put any paste on the cpu?

Many thanks

It's MX-1, which is meant to be almost as good as AS5. I'd leave it on.

And no you don't need to put paste on the CPU too.

Indeed, i'm using a Freezer Pro 7 and the paste that came with it, it works very well and can OC my cpu no problem with low temps still.

I agree, the paste on the HSF is great...I've got a [email protected] and the highest it gets on orthos is 58 degrees, and when i stop orthos, it drops immediately to about 42 before taking a few more mins to get into the 30s
