What is the maximum i can OC the i5 2500k to, with the Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro rev 2?

PS ive got 3x120m and bigger front fan (pre-installed cm enforcer case).

Thanks in advance

On here someone reckons they hit 4.8GHz with that cooler with load temps @69C, but their volts look quite low for that clock speed, maybe though:)

I would think 4.4-4.5GHz around that sort of area, only one way to find out lol

Have you already got it or thinking about buying it?

Try it. OCs are not particularly dependant on having a super duper aftermarket cooler; depending on your chip (and willingness to increase voltages), you could hit anything from 4.2 to 5.0.

Ive already bought it. It had around 200 reviews and most of them were 5 stars! and the price is so cheap couldnt give a miss:D

I have it. Can get 4.5 easy. Idles about 30-40 depending on ambient temps, and load about 60-65.
My room can get quite hot currently.
volts are set to 1.32. Tried it at 1.29 but it bluescreened during prime. So I left it at 1.32 :p

increase voltage -> increase heat. So it depends how good your chip is. Would probably vary between 4.5GHz->4.8GHz (apparently). And it also depends what you think is an acceptable heat level (65-70-80).

It is a big old beast, i just bought one for an AM3 socket Board
Only have 2 mm clearance of my RAM (all 4 slots full with Corsair XMS3 with heatsinks) and it was a bit fiddly to fit on AM3 socket, (ended up taking the board out of the case in the end)

Temps have been good though, and this using the pre-applied MX2 it came with :)

idle
19c cores - 30c TPMPN1

mild load running TV app/FF at about 22% CPU usage 1.5GB RAM usage
21c cores - 34c TMPN1

Prime95 1 Hour
60c cores - 69c TMPN1

All that running the FAN at 7.5V instead of 12V means my PC is almost silent now, so at 12V full RPM i would have got better temps by a degree or two in Prime95

Now to get over the 3.4 OC i had on Stock cooling :p
