hi guys i have just built new pc gigabyte DS3 e6300 2gb corsair twinx 6400 epp hiper r type 580 psu it all boots up fine even picks the memory as 800 but for some reason the fan on the freezer 7 not moving when first put it in it turns a little then stops i aint got an os on yet as i got 2 new drives and dont really want to etheir if the fan wont work is this normal or should the fan move as soon as pc is turned on.

ok tried another fan header it does the same fan turns a little then stops then trys again and stops looks like the fan is a duff, what will oc do will they just want fan back or all of it back if there is something wrong with fan.

Fan control (i.e PWM) would only be on the main CPU header (the 4 pin one) in most cases. Thats why I asked him to try a diferent one, even then it would not stop the fan.

Well on my DS4, it does exactly the same. Fan spins for a second then stops, after a while it spins up. It could be a broken fan however if it still doesn't spin after a few minutes.

its got to be the fan ive tried case fan in both cpu header and system header it goes straight away but not the fan on the freezer :( bummer was looking forward to oc it now gona have to wait ah well cant be helped i suppose and i dont even have a fan that will fit it etheir anyways thanks for the help guys.

Well i have put a 120mm fan on it a little bit big but cable ties done the job nice to keep it in place going by the bois says 20 ide and playing cod2 with everything on full and dx9 temps 35 so the fan doing job well done a little oc to at 2.5ghz just by changing fsb no volts changed so it looking good i do more in morning :P so far very happy with it the bois on mb is f3 you think i should update to lastest or just leave it since running fine?

yep on my ds3 the fan flicks. The drives spin up then the fan starts spinning. All takes a couple of seconds.
