Hi

Just wondering if my Arctic Freezer 64 would be suitable to cool my PhenomII 940 CPU, the reason that I ask is that it is an older version bought about 3 years ago and I'm not sure if they have upgraded it at all for socket AM2+.
If anybody is using an older version on their 940 I'd appreciate their opinion.

When manufacturers say AM2 on their cooler descriptions it means it does support AM2+. The heatspreaders on AM2 and AM2+ have the same surface area, and shape, just a different number of pins. So yes, it will work.

Thanks for your reply, I originally bought it as suitable for socket 939 and that's what I used it on, just wondered if they had changed anything on it for AM2/AM2+

Might not be relevant but did they change the fan connector to a 4pin PWM one with the revision? All recent boards are 4pin but I think 3 pin fans work OK though might need to change something in the BIOS.
