with the Arctic Freezer 7 would i be able to get my E6300 to 3.4GHz on a Gigabyte DS3 or would i be better getting something like a Scythe Ninja or Tuniq Tower

also do heatspreaders on memory help overclocks, if so copper or alluminium?

I've got my 6300 @3.4Ghz using an ACF7, get's a little toasty (~60C) when running Orthos though.
mine is currently at 2.8GHz and gets to about 67 when orthos is running, and ill be getting an Antec 900 soon so that will get temps down a bit. aslong as its not hitting 70

with memory, does it need coolers? i currently have 2 Crucial Sticks PC2-5300 running at 800MHz but if im gonna go to 3.2 - 3.4 im gonna need to increase volts.

Possibly been better with pc6400 means your gonna need to overclock ram more.
shouldnt have much trouble there, altho its cheap RAM its a good overclocker and should cope fine

That Crucial Ballistix PC5300 will do 500MHz with 2.1V, you don't need to upgrade the heat spreaders, they're very good already and you shouldn't need active RAM cooling either. Just let the timings out to about 5-4-4-12 at 1000MHz and you'll be OK.

its not Crucial Balistics, its just basic Crucial PC-5300, doesnt have any heatspreaders

3.4 on a e6300 is a very good overclock, even if you had the cooling and RAM to get to 485FSB your cpu may not manage it.
I would certainly go for the best cooling you can afford, the ACF7 is good for the price but there are better coolers out there, 2 of which you have already mentioned.

not everyones will oc the same even the same make wont always clock the same... just increase the speeds... try 4,4,4,12 t1 @ 800 they should be fine @2.2volts
