just bought the above, & watched a decent video on installation.
the problem is, when installed, it will blow air down onto the gpu.
i don't have a rear exhaust fan, so i'm assuming i need one to take the air out of the back of the case once the cpu cooler blows air down onto the gpu.
i've read people talking about fan orientation, but i don't understand this, because i cannot see how the fan can face any other direction?

If it's the freezer pro I'm thinking of, you need to rotate the mounting plate 90 degrees. This cooler is mounted using push-pins right? As in no backplate? All of the current Intel platforms use a square hole pattern, so the cooler should fit either way round. AMD use a rectangular pattern that often results in the cooler being limited to up/down airflow only.

If you can upload a picture of what you've got, that would be very helpful so that we can assist you.

EDIT: found your other thread. You've got an Intel motherboard using LGA1155. You shouldn't have a problem rotating the mounting plate 90 degrees to achieve front/back airflow as that motherboard has a square hole pattern. The only thing that might get in the way is your top-mounted PSU but I don't think the freezer pro is that big.

right, shouldn't be too hard by the looks of things.

this is slightly off-topic, but related to the installation:

could you point me in the right direction to some pc screwdriver kits?

i had a look around, and i have seen stuff that is torx t4, t6, t8 etc.
obviously, magnetic screwdrivers are not really the best idea :)

Interesting point that. Generally, all you need is a #1 and #2 phillips head screwdriver and that will sort out 99% of PC screws. I have two Stanley drivers I must have had for around 8 years...

The other things in my toolkit are:

Scissors
Cable ties
Long nose pliers
Thermal paste
Arcticlean 1 & 2
Cotton buds
Paper kitchen towels

I'm yet to encounter a torx-head PC screw and the rest of my kit will handle near enough any situation from removing old paste to disassembling a PC.
