Hey guys after fiddling for bout 3 hours yesterday getting stressed with my "Easy Installation" Pro 64 I was wondering is the whole of the heatsink ment to cover the whole of the CPU it don't seem like it covers the whole of 'Heatspeader Surface' I'm gonna have to take this badboy off today as I think I've applyed Arctic Silver 5 wrong (The pre-applied paste had been mashed by the plastic cover). I'm currently getting a 40c idle with core 1 @ 28c, and core 2 @ 33c Whats with these temps shouldn't all 3 be even?

Thanks JoeBoi

The main problem when fitting an AC Freezer 64 Pro is the little notches on the plastic square on top of the heatsink's contact plate must be in the holes on the metal clip. It isn't easy to do this as when fitting the metal clip to both ends of the retention bracket it can often end up sitting on top of the notches resulting in the metal clip being impossible to clip on at the locking end due to it being raised too high.

Your core temps look good but who knows about the motherboard reported temp. Possibly it's reported a lot higher than it should on your motherboard? The delta between core temps isn't uncommon so don't worry too much about that.

I reseated my Arctic Cooler 64 today and the CPU Temp says 37c and Core 1 is @ 23c whilst core 2 is @ 26c this is as idle are these ones alright I don't think I'm putting the arctic silver on properly or is the CPU temp lying?

I'm using PC Wizard 2007 shall I try another prog?

I've just fitted one of these and it was a swine to fit. Not having much room in my case didn't help either. I've raised a couple of questions in my other thread but they apply here as well.

1. Can you take off the fitting mechanism of this fan a rotate it 180 degrees so that the 'handle' is at the opposite end? I have capacitors in the way which makes for a very tight squeeze!

2. I currently just have Firefox open and usgae at 7 and 2 % with temps at 39 and 19C respectively. Is this too wide a range beween cores?

3. I used the thermal pad that came with the HSF. When I reseated it should I have cleaned it all off and re applied fresh?

4. Directed at JoeBoi...what are your temps under load?

I'm using the same 4200 (socket 939) and mine can push 60C although my room (attic) can get warm at this time of year.

Cheers

Andy
