Arctic Silver 5, Question...

The stuff has been around for a while now, newer stuff like MX-3/4 is available.

you will notice about 3-5 degrees difference.
 
I think it depends on the cpu and if you are going to overclock it. If you're not going to overclock and what you are using it for isn't that processor hungry, then maybe not.
 
Depends if you plan on doing heavy overclocking and are worried about temps.

Are you going to be using a K series SB chip

if so, i'd go for the AS5
 
If you're going to change the stock compound use MX3/4.

The main advantage over Arctic Silver 5 is that they're non-conductive.

Reduces the change of a mishap.
