Hi, im thinking of applying this but what worries me is if it leaks. What are the chances of it bleeding out and them going all over my board? Do any of you guys use it? Any tips for application of it?

It's too thick to leak. Just apply a blob about the size of a grain of rice to the middle of the CPU, and take a lot of care when attaching the HSF. No need to be that thorough when spreading it, really. The pressure of the HSF will do this.

If you are worried then give Thermalright Chill Factor a go.

It's not conductive so you don't have to worry about it. It's easier to apply and is pretty much on par in test reviews with Artic Silver.

I've got some Akasa Pro-grade 5022 spare, which i've read is almost if not better than AS5.

They provide a card spreader, but i find that i've never been able to spread it properly with it as it ends up sticking to the card.

I don't know much about applying thermal paste, so when i apply it would i cover the entire top part of the heatspreader or only just part of it? do i need to sprea d it out perfectly or will the CPU cooler do the rest for me? Any guides that you can recommend?

Will be using an Artic Cooler 7

Don't worry, you'd have to put a lot on to get it to squish out all over the mobo. Like stated, just put a small blob (small grain of rice, perhaps 1/2cm in size) in the middle, and a thin opaque covering on the bottom of the heatsink and then place the heatsink onto the mobo. You can twist it from side to side a bit to help even out the compound. But it's to sticky to "leak" anywhere. :)

You'll be alright. :D

It's actually not *conductive* as such, it is capacitive. + as has been said, it's way too sticky.

I installed my cpu the other day and am having heat problems it runs about 35.oC but when i run winavi it go's right up to 7ish with this paste make a differnts

What cooler are you using?

If on stock cooling id recommend a freezer 7 pro, which also has the thermal paste pre-applied

It wont leak as long as you dont apply masses of it :P

Just apply it, attach the coolers and make sure there isnt much "gooing" out.
