Hey guys,

I'm wanting to install arctic silver onto a E6700 (arrives tomorrow!). This is my first time using arctic silver and I'm confused as to how much to put on the CPU.

The official website shows a long line (about 1") on the CPU, but I've also read a size the piece of a grain of rice would work well.


Also, will the E6700 come with any TIM material already on the heat spreader?

Any advice/opinions on the matter are greatly appreciated :)
 
Just the instructions on their site are very vague.

When you say 2 grains of rice, are they being placed at the centre of the CPU?
