I need to replace the whiney and failing northbridge fan on my mother's old Athlon PC. She will probably be slightly worried about me removing the motherboard to fit one of the blue Zalmans... so, as long as I can snip the pins and remove the old heatsink and fan, will using 100% of this thermal epoxy provide similar efficiency to normal AS5 plus ensure that Zalman will never become detached ? That's my understanding, can someone confirm ?

I own several NF7-S Abit boards and a compulsory modification was the removal of that crappy stock heat sink and using a Zalman in it’s place.

I used a mix of AS3 and the Arctic Silver Thermal Epoxy to stick them on.

Took abit of practice gluing various items about the room together before I got the mix to the stage where once solid it was stuck securely but popped off with a twist and a bit of force.
