I have a tube of arctic silver which i used for my previous build, about 3 years ago. Its been lying around since and has never been used.

Im about to build a new system, can i still use this stuff or would i be best off buying a new tube?

I've been on the same tube of AS5 for about 4 years. As long as you've kept the cap on it'll be fine. You don't need to use much. Check out the instructions on their site. Used about 1/2 grain of rice size last time I reseated my X2 5000+ and temps are fine.

It will be fine, however if it's been left without a cap on it then I would discard the first bit of thermal compound that comes out as it would be dried and contaminated compared to the stuff behind it

AS should also be stored with the cap down, so the bits of silver sink to the bottom and the suspension floats to the top.

It'll be fine. Had mine for years.
