When cleaning my CPU today, some drops ended up on the underside. I wiped these away and now some of the contacts on the Q6600 are slightly discoloured.

I will not be booting it up until Tuesday anyway, but do you think it will ruin it?

I think he meant they would not make one which would cause probs to the CPU.

I left it out in the open to allow it to evaporate etc...hope its fine.
i think it'll be fine..

i always clean the cpu while its in the motherboard, its more easyer.. put abit of the clear on a paper towel then just wipe the cpu...

Just use 99.7% IPA

Much cheaper and better than articlean.

Not true. I use both Articlean (1&2 bottles) ALONG with IPA. Been using IPA for years and years now and there are a number of putty-like substances etc that IPA flat out doesn't eat through, which Arcticlean 1 emulsifies extremely well. Normally I use 1 to clean thoroughly, then 2 to clean up nicely, THEN clean over with IPA as I am paranoid about any sort of film that solution 2 may leave over.

Ideally have both Arcticlean 1&2 and IPA to hand and you can clean up pretty well anything PC-related well.
