Just ran 3dmark 05 on my 2.8 duo core with a gig of ram, 7300 se and got 980 points in 3dmark points. Is that normal for that card? I have a X1800XT coming on monday but just wondered if something was seriously wrong before i install it.

Its the 512 meg one with only vga out, its part of a packard bell system, so god knows what it actually is, just a bit worried about the score.

alos by duo core i guess you have a dualcore CPU. Im guessing you mean intel core 2 duo, but it may also be AMD if you get what i mean

Id say that was way too low? Id guess theyd be getting at least 2.5k in 06.

Whats the rest of your spec?

EDIT : Just noticed its 7300SE, not 7300GT.

Not sure, maybe thats about right?

No idea, i want it to be right, its a fresh install of XP Pro so i dunno what it could be, im juts hoping the 1800XT will sort it out

I'd say so, if you look at Nvidias site it's below the LE in capability. The cards only got about 4 pipelines and as I recall about 64mb of native ram- borrows some from the system ram. If you look at the card you can tell how underpowered it is, it only has vanes on top and no fan.

I kept mine in my system for a week then changed it to a modded 7600GT

Hi there

The 7300 GT's are actually very good. Try to go for the OcUK or Galaxy GDDR3 models as these are very quick. Basically they are quicker than a 9800 Pro/XT and have all the new features so are quite a bargain. :)

i agree, the ocuk ones are priced the best though their ram runs at 1200mhz insted of the galaxys 1400mhz, im sure the difference in cost means that the ocuk 7300gt is still the best.

The 7300GS\LE have a core clock of 300-350mhz and 64bit memory (clocked at 250-275mhz,which is 500-550mhz DDR) and 4 pixel pipelines, hence the low performance.
