Hi guys,
I recently bought a samsung soundbar like this:
https://www.samsung.com/uk/audio-video/soundbar-q60r/
I have a Samsung smart TV too.
I have connected the soundbar to the TV via the ARC HDMI port.
The problem is that the soundbar will work fine but when I turn the TV off and then turn it on later on
the hdmi input just doesn't seem to work properly. Also when I turn the power on the TV I have to seperately use the samsung soundbar remote to turn that on (they are all the same make though)
I checked the settings on the TV and I get the option to change it to HDMI but still the soundbar doesn't work via HDMI. Sometimes on the TV it will say "unknown" on that input port.
I read online having a HDMI cable will allow me to have dolby dts and something else. So I believe HDMI will be better over an optical cable.
I'm suspecting that the old HDMI cable could be the problem here, do I need a newer HDMI cable to solve this issue?
p.s the soundbar is awesome it fully works on a BT connection.
