Are all ps3 games 1080p?

No, it will be a rarity to have a 1080p game to be honest. I only know two off the top of my head - Virtua Tennis 3 and Marvel: Ultimate Alliance. Oh and maybe a basketball one.

I thought Virtua Tennis only had 1080p for the 360? or was it announced for both that was the big announcement, cant remember. I would expect a lot of fist party titles to have it.

If you look at the back it usually says the res e.g. 720p.

To be honest the launch titles I saw today didnt have a reverse cover on the box, so I couldn't catch if RFOM had 1080p. I very much doubt it thought.

EDIT: Just found these games.

Lair
Mobile Suit Gundam
Virtua Tennis 3
Gran Turismo HD
Ridge Racer 7
NBA '07

Also....

“Native 1080p (versus 720p scaled to 1080p) uses much more VRAM than 720p. When we finished up a few of our bigger levels at the very end of the development process we realized that we would have had to steal VRAM from some of our characters and environments to run in native 1080p. Anyway, we felt it was best to stay at 720p and that, at least while 1080p televisions are still relatively scarce, we should focus on implementing 1080p for our future games.” - Ted Price, Insomniac (Resistance: Fall of Men)

Ridge Racer 7 is 1080p and so it GT-HD (if you can call it a full game).
EDIT - You got em already ;)

360's only go up to 1080i I thought?

360's got 1080p with a recent system update. And Virtua Tennis being announced as the first game to support 1080p i think.

Also worth noting is that the 360 will upscale every game to 1080p if that's the set res. Not sure if the PS3 does that

I believe PS3 turned up having a hardware upscaler too, But in the beginning it wasnt available to DEVS? But it is now

Something like that anyways... Someone will probably clear it up :p

Same as PS3. Prior to the 360 update (end of last year?) it could scale to a maximum of1080i now it scales to 1080p.

PS3 has always scaled to 1080p since day 1. (I think)

As shown the PS3 has a few native 1080p titles and the 360 is starting to see them now as well. Most games are 720p (both consoles) and are scaled by the console to 1080P if that is the output you have set in the console.

Samurai Warriors 2: Empires also supports 1080p on the 360.

Unfortunately my TV dosent do 1080p through component or VGA :(

Most current TVs don't. Part of the reason in MS bringing out the HDMI 360 "elite". Not much point in supporting 1080P if most TVs do this through HDMI only.

Motorstorm and F1 dont scale to 1080p - unless there is some setting that can do it in the options, both display as 720p on my set.

1080P is marketing hype.....

Guess what YOU DON'T NEED IT... Unless you have a 60inch Plasma, which lets face it, in England that's as rare as rocking horse poop..

1080P vs 720P makes absolutely no difference whatsoever on a regular 42inch top of the range plasma.. Actually the extra processing power to make smoother framerates at 1080p will mean that it'll only crop up every now and again in a game, to lead the ignorant up the garden path.

surely that's like saying you couldn't tell the difference between a PC Game running at 1024x768 or 1280x1024 on a CRT, and it's just not true. The difference between 720p and 1080p is even more than that.

Guess what? YOU DO! ;)

But seriously, it's all about the distance you sit from the screen and the size of the screen itself. I'm guessing most of the bedroom warriors sit pretty close to their tellies, less than 5ft on a 37" and you will tell the difference.

I certainly do.

I have a 55" TV, am I still ignorant?

Wrong !!!.

There's only one plasma in the uk that can do 1080P (Full HD) and I doubt that you have it.

I have a 37" Full HD LCD and I can absolutely tell the difference between 720p & 1080p.
