Are all RTX3080 12Pin Cables the same?

In the middle of transplanting my hardware into a Lian Li O11D XL and just as i was about to finish.. i hit a snag.

I only have 2 PSU.. one being a Corsair AX760i (which i use as a spare/kick start loops), and my current Corsair SF750. The cables for both are too short.. both custom cables and originals, barely reach the motherboard chamber.

If i get a new PSU.. i'm considering the ASUS ROG THOR 1200W 80 Plus Platinum II Modular Power Supply, will my existing custom 12pin cable work. Is the cable basically just like a crossover cable (one end normal, other end upside down)?

If i'm unable to use my existing 12pin, which cable from the website will work/is for the 3080 series cards?

Cables which go from the device-end of an 8-pin PCIE cable to a 12-pin (i.e. an adapter, or an extension cable) would be compatible with any PSU that uses the 8-pin PCIE cables.

Cables which go from the modular-end of the PSU to a 12-pin would NOT be compatible with any PSU (high potential of frying things!).

For modular-end cables, Corsair PSUs have their own standardised pinout and you can check the compatibility tables on their website for any new Corsair PSU you buy.

I don't know who makes the ROG Thor II, or what pinout it uses.

If youre getting a new PSU you may as well get one with a native cable.

You say 12 pin, do you mean the 16 pin gpu power cable?
Bit late so can’t check, but I believe so.

IIRC the custom cable I have is 12 pin which splits into 2x8pin but only 6pins are used so technically 12pin to 14pin.

I’ll upload a picture tomorrow.

In terms of native cables, I assume OCUK does not supply? I could use CableMod potentially, but they are ridiculously expensive for what they are.

Ahh balls. My custom cables are full cables..not extension.

Guess I’ll need something like these if I wanted to continue using the original cables

not sure why i didn't think of it.. i should be able to retain the same PSU and just use extension cables... as i only need the 24pin and 8pin ATX/CPU extended. My current 12pin is long enough to reach around the case almost twice so no issue there.

Ideally do not want to purchase a new CPU until i upgrade the system when the X3D drop
