Are any modern LED tvs good enough to replace a normal monitor and use 3dvision?

4090 on 850w = BOOM
I have the 30" dell right now and feel i wouldnt mind the loss of resolution to go 3d vision but ONLY if it's bigger than my dell so I'm limited to LED tvs upto £1000. I'd like some input from anyone that knows of a tv that will allow full framerate in 3dvision as well as looking like a monitor for desktop work as I find the lettering and colours awful on my lcd 42" LG or 37" samsung lcd and would want something infinitely better. Loads of USA Tvs list 120hz but I bet they are interpolated - is there a couple I need pointing to that are really 120hz over the displayport/hdmi?

Basically I'm after a giant monitor what's the best above 40" for pc use?

From what I've understood, only DLP-based TVs are supported for 3D Vision. In addition to the computer monitors, naturally.

The problem, as I see it, is that most HDTVs are limited by their 60Hz input, which has more to do with the electronics (controller board), not with the panels themselves. The panels might still be 120Hz to support the interpolation, etc. Therefore you can't use 3D vision, which relies on 120Hz for its shutter glasses.

At least officially, but there might be "hacks", like this one, but for 3D.

If you don't mind using Passive FPR 3D (3D Vision is what's called "active", as it uses shutter glasses), then I would suggest Philips and LG HDTVs. Though you seem to have a bad experience with LG, maybe you just had a bad model...? In any case, here's my own review of the Philips 42PFL6907T (which is what I'm currently using):

The thread also discusses few points you should be aware of when considering a HDTV for a monitor.

If you don't need or see the usefulness of Philips' Ambilight, then LG might be a better option.

And I would also like to remind/emphasize that HDTVs have their own purpose and computer monitors have theirs. Don't expect to find the Holy Grail of display devices, there isn't one.

LED is good than the CCFL as I noticed. The CCFL is very hot and it looks a bit yellowish. the LED one has higher brightness and feel more sharp.
