Are certain types of monitors better for preventing eyestrain?

Hey,
Silly me, I've just posted essentially the same question though I think I've timed out so I'd also be very interested to know more. :)

Edit : Yeah, would appear it hasn't posted. Don't wish to hog the thread but I've got a dell 22" and have just turned my brightness down to zero and contrast up to 100. Eyes feel much better already and this is only after about fifteen minutes. Might have to game at desktop res in future : 1024*768 which would mean my X2 would be pointless; intending to upgrade the monitor soon anyway. Would these 120hz be worth considering?
I think I'm right in saying that refresh rate for a crt is very different for a lcd.

If you happen to be using a CRT then upping the refresh rate from 60hz to 75 or 85hz is a big relief to your eyes. You can spot a CRT running at 60hz from a distance. If you change this and your monitor goes out of range then just wait ~15 seconds and it will go back to your previous settings :)
