as some may know i had planned on getting a good graphics card come christmas, but i hardly been using my pc so sold my gts 450 weeks ago and instead of buying something decent like a 570 or a 660 with money i had as present i ended up spending on it on xbox one games and a perfect condtion/working presario cq57 amd e300 apu verson lol , but i still need my computer for my things, just not gaming as much........

so i was thinking of selling my DS cube and getting a slim style case as i wont need dedicated graphics, but i dont know how many that are say £50(depending how much my case worth) region that supports atx power supplies(will have to put back in box and store it otherwise) so as an alternative i was looking at cases with SFX units and these CiT items keep popping up which i know are low quality, i had a 500w model with case for old build i made to sell ages ago, but would they actually be that bad for my use?

cheers

pmsl thanks for the advise, but i am a tight git, i buy what i can and not all have been rubbish, im not a big branded buyer in anything in general, i will treat myself when i can though.

its more the fact of the cases look nice even if they are cheaply made and just so happens to include a psu, i dont have to buy a combo, i can just buy a case like this one

My basket at Overclockers UK:

Total: £35.45
(includes shipping: £10.50)

which is really nice and would have it, but the required psu's that are not cheap made or old like liteon etc tend to be more expensive and im looking for a cheap option for the lack of use the computer will have, just dont want to keep moving my lump of a pc about.

i dont want to replace my power supply i have, but i dont want a lump of a computer anymore

Yes they are crap. Stop being a tight git and buying rubbish all the time.

Well they are crap, but its the only one that can start my gpu :D its an old pc but earlier in 2016 wanted to go for xfx ts650, and super flower 450, but non of them started that gpu, so had to stay with cit :D from my point is not that crap :)

If you want to use that case then you need a SFX psu for it. The Corsair SF series are the best but I am guessing you don't want to spend that much. The BeQuiet SFX units aren't too bad but the 12v rails are fairly weak and the 300w only has 264w across the dual 12v rails. It would be fine for a low power system though. Nobody knows anything about the Kolink ones, no reviews, nobody knows who the oem is, in fact no information at all which is worrying. If a product was any good the manufacturer would be shouting from the roofs and sending units off for review so until things change and regardless of what the shop staff say, none of us will be recommending Kolink psu's until we have some information to base it on.

Never heard of that before. What gpu is it?

For a cheap AMD E300 PC I'd use a CIT, sure.

The power draw from it would be so low that I'd be amazed if it failed.

Ordinarily I wouldn't.

Alternatively an old branded PSU, second hand.

It's an old ATI RADEON HD3850 :D i didn't hear about it either until i had to sort it out :D the place where i was buying psu's to sort pc out asked me to bring gpu for them to check it. And they couldn't start it with evga or other good brand :D but with xfx ts430 they managed but they didn't had non to sell, so i kept my self to CIT :D

I once had a 3850 and had no problems powering it off a quality psu so don't understand why it will only work with a crappy CIT.

No idea. As i said earlier it started with xfx ts 430 but not xfx ts 650, and that was bit strange... at first i thought that maybe because CIT has dual rail and xfx just single, but after starting on 430 one which has single +12 rail to had no clue at all .

Acme yeah right ur end probably :D

That means nothing. OCUK has sold plenty of dodgy psu's (and other stuff such as Raijintek AIO's) in the past. First were the awful OCUK branded Huntkey units which could fail quite spectacularly, then the abysmal OCUK branded Powercool units. The latest is Kolink but the jury is still out on those until some reputable information and reviews surface.
