Are coolermaster units still worth a purchase?

Got given a dell xps 420 from a family member, it was one I had upgraded for them a little, just with memory an a gt 610, but now I have it I want to change the psu from the standard dell one.

I've set it up for school work for my partners son at the moment, no gaming is involved nor will be really when I get it back(he's waiting on a laptop), just want to give it better life with a better power unit, but cheap as chips and 80 rated.

Depends on the model but their low end units are not good.
