Are Digital Downloads of games the future? Not at these prices!

There is simply no way in hell I'd ever buy a digital copy of a game if was anything over £30.
If they did somehow come down to £30 then I'd possibly buy a few digital copies of games but it'd only be ones where I knew I'd be playing MP a lot.

I can see why they keep the prices of the games so high but I would've thought there are potential advantages for them in pushing people towards digital purchases by making the prices lower. There would be far fewer second hand games available on the market so people would have to buy it new. One person buying COD for £60 and selling it secondhand to someone else is less profitable for the creators than selling two copies for £40 each, surely?

Unless they're actually going to make it possible for digital games to be sold on..

Sony explains PS4 digital game pricing said:
So, what's going on? We put Eurogamer readers' complaints to Fergal Gara, who runs PlayStation in the UK. He told us that the launch pricing of games on the PlayStation Store was affected by Sony's desire to keep shops on-side during the crucial console launch period.

"First of all, we want to support a healthy retail channel, so it's not in our interest to go and seriously undermine retail."
