Are EVGA taking the mick

I've never had a PSU for more than 4 years... Are you really going to have the same PSU for more than 5 years?

I'm using my 1000W Thermaltake toughpower today which I bought way over 5 years ago. The fan went noisy in it some time ago but, both Thermaltake were pretty useless warranty wise(at the time their european support bounced all e-mails back basically making it impossible to contact them). More to the point, a warranty is good for reselling, and simply put I would value a 5 year warranty from a company I know how to contact like EVGA much higher than a 5 year warranty direct from super flower when I've never contacted them before nor used the service.

I did use to replace PSU's fairly often, both as you build ever more powerful computers, then PCI-E came along and gpu's with more power connections needed. But frankly since the first psu's with 8 pin pci-e were available very little has changed. 2-3% higher efficiency over the past 8 or so years.

Blu-tac works great on things like routers/hdds/wireless connectors(seriously, when will it end), but if you look at the review of the super flower platinum, each modular cable connector end lights up, a lot. :(

We need to start passing laws worldwide that all devices with led lights need to be able to turn the ruddy led's off.

Do you really spend so much time looking at your PC that it disturbs you? PSU is usually in such a location that you couldn't see it much anyway.

Don't get me wrong, I like PC's that have been designed to look good, hell, I got LED fans too.. but it's not important enough to put me off purchasing something, I mean, the performance is there regardless, and that's what I want in the end.

130W Gold PSU arrival date

Is there any info on the 1300W PSU as there are some EVGA guys in this thread, been wanting one for a while and across the UK I can't find them in stock. Nothing else seems to come close in price/performance for such a big psu, but everywhere I've checked has no idea when stock is coming in.

Hi

The 1300W PSU will arrive at OCUK on Tuesday 17th December.

I hope this helps. We have a lot of 1000W + Modular PSU shipping to the UK today from our Munich hub so 4 working days and OCUK will have this.

Thanks
Ben
