are H61 chipsets affected by the SATA issue? (B3 Stepping fix)

I ask because I need to know if an H61 mobo needs to be advertised as B3 ready? - across different websites I see some of the same models being listed as B3 and some not (H61 chipset) and makes me wonder if some websites are selling older versions or something?

thanks

If in any doubt, drop them an email. Otherwise search the exact model number and revision specified on the site and check the manufacturers website for details.

got my head battered now lol - it seems only ASUS/MSI advertises as B3 on these chipsets, the likes of Gigabyte (whom I want to buy) dont?

http://uk.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4089#ov

its almost as if Asus/MSI are incorrectly labelling them as B3..? because in some of the descriptions for H61 they say B3 stepping that affected H67 and P67 chipsets..no mention of H61, as if its been copied and pasted from older descriptions (if you know what I mean)

could it be that H61 is a newer version of 6-series thats not affected?

ive sent GB and email and asked on their forum about this

I don't believe any B2 H61 chipsets made it out in any production boards (remember H61 came a little bit after H67/P67).

You may find some boards designated B3 but it really does not matter as all production boards were manufactured with B3 steppings.
