Are Integrated router Virus checkers any good

Looking at the ZYXEL 661HW as it has an intergrated virus checker and wondered if they are any good?

Would it mean i could not bother with virus checkers on my the pc's .

Be one thing less i need to update etc. Or would you still need to have them installed on your PC. Baring in mind the only possible malicous data coming onto my pc's is via the net. As i only use the rom for commercial dvdvs, music cds and games CDs.

Doubtful it'd be any use, and debatable what exactly it's going to scan (unless you proxy everything through it, and I'd love to see it handle the load).

Sound similar to the fortigate units, they buffer the packets and scan the file(s) passing through (up to a certain size) they also cover web traffic and whatnot but I wouldn't like to relyon them under high workloads
