Are later (current) E5200's O/Cing well? 4ghz?

What could I expect out of a 5200 if I'm buying now? I realise its a bit of pot luck but are current chips O/Cing better than earlier ones? What speed could I expect with a £60 mobo and a £20-25 cooler? (recommendations for these would not go amiss - quiet cooler though please)

Are the quads similar - what could I expect to get a quad 2.3ghz to?

Well I had my M0 stepping E5200 (M0 are the best overclockers) at 3.0GHz with just a 0.05v overvolt. I'm currently at 3.3GHz with a .15v overvolt (which is approx 1.34v, still under the max recommended 1.365v) and my temps are hitting 55deg under load with a Freezer 7 Pro cooler at 800 RPM (silent).

People quite commonly run 1.4v on these chips and push them to 4.0GHz with ease but I don't know if you'd get much over 3.5GHz with a £60 board. I've even seen people run them as high as 4.8GHz but you need suicidal voltages for this.

I just put a new E5200 in a PC for my cousin clocks really nicely (not sure of the stepping) 3.75Ghz at 1.36v (CPU-Z) idles 45 load 59 using an akasa 965.

See my thread here for a direct comparison.

M0 is the original stepping and does'nt clock anywhere near as good as the newer ones although there are exceptions such as the one's P4radox and Cpatain-chaos have.

Quite right, I though the M0 was the one to have but it would seem that the most recent one is R0, my bad.

It would seem that there are still a lot of M0 ones in the market though for me to get one just a few weeks ago.
