Im currently using a Thermaltake Toughpower 750W Which has done me for a couple of years and handles everything i've thrown at it. The only problem is that there is too many cables which are a mess inside my case.

Im now wondering if i should grab a decent Modular PSU, but im just wondering if they make a big difference in terms of looks. I really need to do some cable managment but no matter how hard i try there are still too many cables ( With the Thermaltake TP ).

Is it worth looking into?

Cheers!

I would say wait until you need more power and then upgrade.

A change of PSU just to get tidy seems crazy to me.

What you may want to do is remove all the cables, re-run them so they are not in a mess and use cable ties or velcro to keep them out of the way.

Modular PSUs are good, but you do still need to be tidy with your cable runs.

I have just switched to a modular (kinda had to) and it really depends on how often you dip into the PC really, yes its nice and clear from wires, but if I didn't open it up all that much it wouldn't really make a difference.
Also, if you are one of those people who take air flow far too seriously to whats really needed then yeah it will be a good idea ;)

Not essential, but convenient.

I have the same psu, except its the modular version, and was the easiest pc cable routing ive done. My mid tower case is very tidy and the airflow isnt obstructed.

You can't go wrong with modular! Make sure the cables are sleeved before you buy btw.

I still state there is no way I would change my PCU without a power requirement. Tidier yes, worth the money, no.

If you do change, I would definately consider your next PC move and spec the PSU for that. You know, if you want to go i7 and SLI 480s grab a 1kw modular. That way you wont have to bin / sell your PSU on your next HW refresh.
