Hi there,

I've just started using vista and am having some annoying slowdowns in games, and the vista computer scoring thing lists my ram as the bottleneck.

I have 2x Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2x1GB) DDR2 PC2-5300C3 667MHz Dual Channel Kit (BL2KIT12864AA663)

CPU is overclocked from 200 to 250MHz, air cooling. Has been fine like that for a long time.

So does all this look OK? Is there something I should change?

Are you experiencing any other problems?

I only ask as Ballistix memory has a habit of popping up on the forums as being the cause of some members problems – usually due to a strip's sudden corruption/demise. Have you tried running memtest recently just to check that it's all running as it should?

As for your timings; as your system is clocked I’m guessing you’ve tried running tighter timings (3 3 3 15) and the system has buckled? But even with your slightly slacker timings (5 5 5 15) and minor frequency reduction that shouldn't suddenly hinder your gaming performance when using 4 gig of memory.

Good luck with it.
