Hi, i got some Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers (Black) - Retail (SP-000-AE)

I got them from Ocuk, and when i first plugges them in i was not impressed, the sound was not very clear at all, but i though this could be down to my onboard sound (Asus A8V). So i just accepted it.

After 1 month, i started to realise that the right speaker was allot quieter than the left one.

Now a couple of months further, the right speaker wont work at all.
I have swapped the cables over and then the left speaker wont work, so it seems the Sub that has the ports on is faulty ?

Anything i can try before sending them back, and hopefully buying an alternative (probably creative or logitech)

Thanks for reading.

NP Must be a faulty set from day one. I have two sets of aego M's one on my PC and the other on my TV both are superb.

I changed from the Z2300's (Logitech) and have had a demo on the creative G500 gamer edition and nothing comes close to the Aego's for clarity.

The Logitech Z2300's are more powerful but the quality of the AE is superb, and i did not like the idea of all the wires for a 5.1 set up and i fealt like the wireless edition was a lie as only two speakers were wireless. I even changed my soundcard to the XFI range to get the best from my set up and I have to say it is impressive. For a 2.1 set up nothing can touch the AE product at all and OcuK have only ever had three faulty sets out of the several hundred we have sold.

Either way I will sort the problem for you but I would give the AE a second try m8 they are the best thing on the market for 2.1 and unique for PC audio and games.

Ok thanks.
Also, when i turn my speakers on, and no output is coming from my PC, i get quite a loud hissing sound. Would this be my sound card?

I dont like to say it but i really have gone against the AE speakers now, wish i would have never decided to upgrade from some £40 logitechs.

Is there anyway i could maybe change for a similar price item (even though its been longer than 28 days) like the Logitech Z-2300 THX® Certified 2.1 200 Watts Speakers - Retail (SP-022-LG) ?

I had logitech before and they were good for me, but i felt like upgrading as i had some spare pennies, then it all went downhill.

Cheers

I've had my Acoustic Energy Aego M 2.1 Speakers nearly a week now, the sound clarity is better than my £600 Kenwood (11yr old) Hi-Fi. Its well worth getting a replacement kit if I was you. :) Only downside for me is with me being that impressed with the Aego M's, I think its time I got a new separates sound system. :)

Ry@n, I was having the exact same problems with the first set of Aego M's I had. I had the distorted sound, hissing, etc. plus I was getting really weak bass out of the sub. I RMA'd them to the place I got them and they replaced them for me. The new set which I'm using at the moment sound absolutely brilliant. I'd definitely say you should get a replacement rather than going for some other speakers.
