Are OCUK Forums in decline?

Apart from an annoying amount of racist threads (more than none)

This was my first thought, along with what was brought up in one of them.

Certainly made me think twice about the place (store and forum) and am still undecided about sticking around or not, certainly been posting less anyway.

OCUK has always been a Mecca for racists, pun intended.

Im not sure how it can get away with it and still be in bussiness

The racists are very much in the minority, and usually reasoned down by the majority on the forum.

There are a few vocal groups who shout far louder than their numbers suggest, and keep repeating the same discredited assertions in the hope that people will get bored with debunking them. Ultimately though, freedom of speech should never revolve around only freedom to speak about things others agree with.

Forums are fine really.

The parts I visit are active enough. Just you guys who sit at work all day pressing F5 on GD that are noticing it :p

Well put.

Also, the forums slowing down is most likely due to a number of factors:
- Kids back at school
- Slightly older kids have exams coming up
- No more spamming for MM access since the rules changed

You know what I meant :)

One piece of toast cooked at the same temp with the same timer is the same as another regardless of the toaster. It is just a matter of using your preferred settings.

Yes well, Hmmm. It is hard to reply to that honestly and openly without getting banned.

It matters who and of what standing that minority include, within ocuk as a buisness, not just some random rasict forum posters.

I kinda want to ask about memory foam mattress toppers. Is this along the same lines as spec me a toaster? :)

You're right but some racist threads don't get locked, even though they should have been locked from post 1.

I seem to remember one was opened because it "provided" a good topic of discussion even though the OP was just absolute rubbish.
