I emailed them last week requesting a mac code so I can migrate to a different ISP, I am not tied down to a contract with them, been a customer for over 2 yrs and was happy with the service until recently when the internet disconnects every damn minute during peak hours.

They replied very politely saying that they would pass my email onto the relevant department, that was last Wednesday, and said it would take 72 hrs. Ok. But since I emailed them, my internet is a hell of a lot faster, hasn't disconnected and I'm getting seriously high downloads with bittorrent.

Is it possible that they are only doing this to keep me as a customer, or is it just mere coincidence?

over the last few weeks i have noticed my 2mb connection can be rather slow arond 6pm onwards, i emailed them they said a few things to try, then the next day my connection has been fine and i havent tryed any of the things they said to try.

i two have been a pipex customer for 3+ years and that hs been my only problem witch now has disapered :)

i think its a common trend with ISPs to be honest - i had issues with bulldog being absolutely rubbish, i said i was going to cancel and miraculously the last few days of service was flawless. more than just coincidence i reckon. its just isps shaving customers they hope they can get away with, or at least thats certainly how it seems
