question as title really , are any of the ASUS coolers worth a purchase or what would you recommend , at present im using a Zalman 9500 & was looking for something better to cool c2d chip

they are very good but there are problems with the base being convex - not flat, so require a bit of elbow greese to get it flat but after that its fine.

my quad @3.2 idles at 39-40

Forgot to add Keeny1979 is right the finishing on the Ultra 120's are absolute crap..

I dont know anyone whos had a flat base one, all I know is that if ya have one make sure to get some 120, 400, 800 and 1500 grit wet and dry to rub the bugger down...

Mine took me 4 hours hard graft to get the bloody thing remotely level.

Mine at the moment is clocked @3.2 and its running at 48oC idle.

Good cooler when you messed about with the base..

Thats pretty poor manufacture quality no?

If I spent £50 on a cooler, I'd expect the base to be as shiny and flat as a mirror.

The best air cooler I have ever used. I have a E6850 that idles at 24c using TAT and only gets as high as 42c running Orthos. I have it connected to a Zalman fanmate on the lowest speed as well and it is silent. I have a Zalman 9500 on a E6600 and the Asus is a better cooler.
