Are the new Quad Cores going to be AM2?

I'm thinking of going AM2 from 939 but I've been reading about the new quad core chips and I don't know if they're going to be supported by the current batch of motherboards. Will they be released for socket AM2? I'm just thinking ahead before I make my mind up!!

Yes, AMD made sure that users will not have to change from AM2 so you can get a true quad core on one chip CPU, you will however have to change if you want DDR3 support.

so you think the current lot of boards will support it?
