Are the old A6-4400m APU still any good and can play SC2:WOL well?

found city life 2008 edition in my stuff which is like simcity, so don't Need to faff for that game now, but I have been wanting to play star craft 2 wings of liberty ever since i got it again and before I played that and wow and MW2 maxed out on a i5 430m and think it had hd 5470 512mb or 1gb with hyper memory to 2gb graphics and if I'm not mistaken this APU should be better? But reviews are mix.

Only ask because someone selling a Samsung with the APU and 6gb ram, 500gb for £50 due to dead battery and there's a lot of interest, but it's a first come first serve basis ha.

I always go by game-debate can I run it feature which says medium to high, but that's not real world really is it.

However, i imagine those are best case results, The A6 4400M wasn't intended for gaming and i imagine that while you'll get away with running it at minimum settings at low resolution it wont be a pleasing experience.

Make sure to check the RAM is running in dual channel, I had a laptop with an A8 Llano with a 6520G and found it was being bottlenecked by the RAM bandwidth. If possible, maybe upgrade to a 1600MHz kit as well if it's not at that speed.

I used it to play SC2 as well, and it ran ok on medium settings with a 1080p monitor connected to it.

EDIT: No idea if it will work with your APU, but I used k10stat to overclock the CPU which helped with SC2. Judging from the name though it could be only for CPUs based on K10 like my Llano A8, I think yours is newer and based on Piledriver.
