I was just wondering if there were any gaming sites that people tend to avoid. And for what reasons.

I won't use Kotaku, Polygon, Gamespot and IGN.

These above sites I find are either to political in there views. Full of clickbait, or I just can't trust what I read in general.

Polygon, Gamasutra, Kotaku, Arstechnica and Gamesindustry.biz are my usual reads.

All pretty good, I certainly don't feel the need to boycott any of them because of the occasional duff article.

Thats a good point. But I do find that Kotaku and Polygon have to many duff articles for my liking.

Another thing that I like to do regardless of site. I like to read through the article to find others opinions on it. In a lot of cases the comments are more informative or correct than the article it's self. Here's a good example of a less informative article posted on PC Gamer.

I don't touch review sites as their reviewers frequently receive kickbacks from developers and publishers, including free games to review, consoles, tickets to events, and other such things. Also, I've heard that game reviewers who have left bad reviews for certain games have found themselves blacklisted by certain developers who won't allow them to review a game before release anymore. This causes reviewers to always take the safe road and never give you their true opinion. After all this, you can see why gaming review sites are completely untrustworthy.
