Are there any good Silent cases with no side panel?

Hey all

I do realise most of the noise comes from the components however I've always built a pc using fractal define series. Is the r7 a decent case now?

Was told it wasn't great for airflow so any alternatives?

I would like a solid side door as the lights are off-putting. It will be for a 13700k build with an 4090

The airflow is fine, silence will always come at a cost of thermals but the Fractal cases built with low noise in mind, do a great job of balancing both.

I have a R5, R7 (10 HDD's) and recently acquired a Define 7 XL (14 HDDs) would not build in anything else. Thermals has never been a problem.

The fan mounts are there for a reason, use them (With decent fans of course) and you will not be happier.

The cases do a great job of silencing the case, so stick the biggest heatsink in there with the most efficient fans you can muster and enjoy.

Check out BeQuiet cases as well, such as the Silent Base 802. There is a trade off for quieter cases over airflow when blocking component noise but ymmv, sometimes you just get a noisy card with coilwhine, just as an example. If you're lucky and don't get much coilwhine or electrical noise in general, you could have a very open airflow case with lots of slow spinning fans and be very happy!
