Are there any PCIe v5 riser cables?

I hope we all know the problems that arise from using a PCIe v4 card with a v3 riser cable. But, with Intel about to release their Arc GPUs which are surely going to take advantage of PCIe v5, are there any v5 riser cables?

I suspect it might be quite a while. As the bandwidth increases its harder and harder to maintain signal integrity over any kind of distance. Which is why a riser that works fine with a gen 3 connection flakes out with a gen 4 connection, and why gen 4 risers are comparatively quite expensive.

So I think its going to be relatively tough to make risers that won't flake out trying to deal with gen 5 pcie at least not without making them really expensive

Not yet, companies have only just figured out how to make v4 without issues, so v5 is probably a year away - the difficulty with riser cables is with each new pcie generation, it becomes harder to prevent signal noise and data loss along the cable - the most convenient solution is making the cables shorter and shorter or switching to more expensive materials like fibre optics

as a result, the cables do become shorter and they become more expensive, pcie5 risers could cost like $200

Likewise the GPUs may support PCIe5 but it will have zero bearing on their performance as an pcie 4 link will be more than sufficient, a pcie 3 x16 probably wouldn’t impact performance much either.
