Are there any more planned price drops on C2D's? Since my current one cant really be overclocked due to a poor motherboard and stuff, im thinking of getting something like the E6850 to see me through to next year.

Why dont just get a new motherboard and new Memory?

The E6850 is the biggest waste of money, why not just get a E6750 and clock it to 3.4GHZ+?

Though if your spending that much on a CPU, Quad all the way. :)

Edit - sorry i sort of let your very first question fly over my head. :p .

Anyway to your question, no their arnt anymore price cuts as far as im aware.

Thanks :)

Im really not sure what to do since my PSU and Motherboard are both not suited to overclocking at all (a 530w hiper and some random generic C2D mobo :p) I think that would push the price to high (im 15 so im a bit poor, and no i didnt buy my 8800gts).

EDC: I guessed you missed the bit where he said his board isn't any good at overclocking? :D

tomanders91: What is the name of your mobo and what memory do you have?

I think maybe it would be cheaper to buy yourself a new mobo (sell your old one) and overclock that uber E6400 of yours :)

The motherboard is a Foxconn P9657AA, pretty poor.

Ill look for some reviews of my motherboard, check what people have been getting C2D's to, then maybe buy a new PSU and some decent memory.
