Im interested in getting one however the only one I can find which seems suitable for high refresh rate gaming at 4k is the Samsung Neo G8. The problem is this monitor is too curved for my tastes and will take up too much headroom on a quite narrow desk, even when mounted to a monitor arm.

As far as I can see there are no other 4k mini LED monitors. So I'm left wondering if I should hold out for a few more months in the hope there are some due for release in the coming months or just put aside my deep fear of burn-in and get the Alienware 32" OLED. I would rather go down the mini LED route but I'm not sure I can hold out for another six months without at least knowing some other alternatives are due for release in the near future.

I'd also be interested in a 34" ultrawide Mini LED but again these don't seem to exist besides the Samsung 57" which is totally OP for my needs.

honestly if your only worry is burn in on OLED don't worry most of the manufacturers now offer 2-3 years burn in warranty now.

also I believe LG 42" oled offer five year burn in warranty but best to double check this.

I have the g9 57" curved mini led LCD and once you get used to the curve its amazing. You can also buy a G9 49" monitor in both mini led and oled version that has a lot less curve but its too narrow for me vertically.

You can also take some precautions with burn in, like turn huds off and remove your task bar and move all items from the desktop screen. Playing games wont burn in and very unlikely too. Have been playing with a sony G series Oled and no burn in 5 years gaming on it, what might burn in is having a IDE environment from applicating on 24-7, you still minimise it by taking a few minutes break and change screen, employ a screen saver, reduce brightness ect ect. The funny thing is that my sisters 27 Mac which is LCD has burned in bad and also my dell 30" has burn in all across the top and bottom and both are LCD, my surface book 2 has burn in ever so slightly on the top left and its LCD also. So burn in is not exclusive to OLED but they are more prevalent to burn in than LCD if you abuse them.

they have a 3 year burn in warranty

I got a AW3225QF the other day and I'd say 70% of my PC usage is browsing the web

I know but if I spend close to a grand on a monitor I want it to be guaranteed to last a lot longer than three years.

Three year warranty is good but Mini LED looks good enough to my eyes to be a viable replacement for OLED with the added bonus of burn in being a non issue.

That said all the mini LED monitors that are out seem to be a bit meh apart from the Samsung which is too chonks for my desk.

I have a similar problem :(
The mini Led market is rough for sure.
