Are there no modern games with instagib style game play?

I know you can still play the old quake games but i was hoping for something a bit more recent (including mods), similar to the fast action of quake with quick kills and respawn, preferably energy weapons like rail guns and lasers?

Not really what im after, i mean pure instagib one shot kills game play, or disintegration if you ever played elite force, it's simple and fun, no messing around with weapons or waiting for respawns, but what i liked most was your aim is as accurate as your crosshair, there was none of this annoying spread like what you get with games now.
 
I've looked at those before and they're no doubt good games but i really just want multiplayer with one laser/rail gun weapon, fast action, accuracy and quick respawns, i was hoping there might be something around, either mods or newer games?

Instagib in UT has that :) enhanced shock rifles!

You've made me miss elite force now though, need to install that again :D

I nearly got it in a steam sale buti checked the servers and not many play so i didn't think it was worth getting at the time, you're right though it probably is what im after.

I still have it installed, although can't really play it, servers are filled with bots. :(
