Are there specs in the blackwall tunnel?

Confused as i saw signs for cameras and two specs looking cameras yet no GPS warning (before i entered) from either my Tomtom built in camera database or my pocket GPS POI database which is up to date and warns about specs. Did'nt go past 30 ish average anyhow but just curious?

I know there is a camera (gatso) just as you go into it on the south side, but I dont know of any specs in operation. A quick check of pgpsw speed cam database should answer your question.

Edit: Well I never. It looks like that gatso is a dummy. They didnt have any specs showing up though, so it could just be monitoring cameras.

A little update? I've read in a few places that theres been a new installation and both sides are now specced up. Also the signs were removed to say not enforcing. Any ideas now? :D Sorry if i come across as paranoid but i use the darn tunnel every week and just like to know my surroundings :)
 
I went throught last weekend (not this current one) and they were not active.

Won't be going back through until next Saturday.

Have you considered going through the tunnel at/below the stated speed limit? Then you will not get flashed and should help your paranoia.
 
My Origin B2 tells me there are SPECS going one way through the tunnel (can't remember if it's northbound or south) but you can see the gantries with the cameras. No idea if they're active or not though so I stick to the limit - coming the otherway though there aren't any and tend to open it up a little for the lovely noise in the tunnel! :D
 
yeap they are setting up spec cameras on both tunnels.. not active yet, as the cameras have black bags covering them currently
By the way as far as i am aware the gatso camera enforcing 30mph limit on the approach to the tunnel going north does work.
 
Went Northbound yesterday evening, and I saw at least 1 specs camera, pretty much outside the factory that smells of cheese and bread cooking :S
 
There will be specs both ways, northbound installation is ready on south side but cameras are still in bags as of this morning. It will initially be 30mph i believe....
