Hey guys, I'm on a c2d [email protected] and decided it was finally time to upgrade on the release of sandybridge. But then there were reports of dodgy cpus.... If I remember correctly it was a component that wore out too fast?

Anyway are there still problems with the sandybridges? I was looking at getting an i7 2600k and I was worried about buying anything incase I had to send the cpu back to intel... I know they did recalls but I havent really kept up to date on the subject :P

So long as you Buy a B3 revision mainboard you will be fine. All that was wrong was the sata 3GBPS ports going bad anyways so it wasn't too bad. There were no dodgy CPU''s either just some people put way too much voltage through them and killed them. That always happens when we get a die shrink due to 32nm being more sensitive to voltage than 45nm.
