I'm considering a laptop in the MM however it has no charger. The first image is the required charger, the second image is a charger that I have. Are they compatible? I see the output voltage is the same but current is different?

Shouldn't be a problem if the adaptor you have has has a higher current capability - there are some exceptions to that but generally not with laptops. Aslong as the voltage, type of and polarity of the jack is the same it shouldn't be an issue.

The battery charging circuit should have its own current management and the rest will only pull as much current as it needs so aslong as the power supply is upto supplying that level of current or more it won't be a problem.

Current is the max the charger can supply. It's ok to be higher than the device required. Voltage is not though!

It's more about the jack measurements

voltage is supplied and current is drawn.

same voltage is important but a higher current will be ok as the laptop will only take what it needs..use it short term untill you get the correct one.
