Asus nforce 650 Motherboard
Intel E4300 Allendale
2gb DDR2 Ram (with Crucial ballistix 5300C3 or Geil 6400 LL)

Not sure about the RAM or HSF at the min

I'm on a very tight budget

There is a massive official E4300 OC thread and ASUS P5N-E SLI thread so you can have a look and decide for yourself.

It looks like most people can reach 3 - 3.2Ghz with this setup with some lucky ones reaching 3.3 - 3.4, 1 or 2 I've seen reached 3.6Ghz but I am not convinced it's entirely stable.

Tuniq Tower / Noctua / Scythe Ninja are all very popular cooler but if you're on a tight budget the Arctic Freezer 7 pro is very good.

The 650 chipset allows you to oc RAM completely independent to CPU so just get the best memory you can afford.

Thanks for the reply

Can I get a good OC using the standard cooler and Geil RAM?

I'd be happy with something like E6600 speeds as I used to have one of those a few months back

Yes standard cooler should be fine if you are only aiming to achieve E6600 speed. You may even be able to run it on stock vcore. Either that geil or crucial ballistix 5300/6400 are fine mate.

I built a system for a friend using a E4300 and it clocked to 3GHz without any increase in voltage lower in multiplyer or anything. It sits at 50 deg at full load with stock cooler, but I am using a Artic Cooling 7 Pro keeps it down at 40.

The Ballistix 5300 will clock to 8500+ speeds also :D

Crucial ballistix 5300C3 is being raved about for its overclockability and value for money this would be my choice on a tight budget :)

If you have a case with limited airflow the Scythe Ninja works incredibly well in that enviorment no real budget benefit as the Scythe and Sunbeam and Noctua are all around the same price.
