Are these games better on the X360 or PS3?

Hi

Today i ordered an X360 elite to replace my launch console + a PS3
below is a small list of games i want to buy that are available on both platforms so could anyone tell me are the following games better on the
X360 or PS3?

COD 4
Rainbow Six Vegas
Rainbow Six Vegas 2
Timeshift
Oblivian

I think the simple answer is....which controller do you prefer? Also would you prefer to pay for XBox Live and play on that or on PSN for free. Achievements for the XBox versions may also be a factor.
 
COD 4 - Both the same, i would say xbox version because of live if you play MP.

Rainbow Six Vegas - Xbox

Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - Xbox probably

Timeshift - Xbox but Ps3 one was good.

Oblivion - PS3

Not including obvious things like, controller, free online play on PS3 and acheivements on the 360 etc. As far as i know, have read/heard...

Cod4-pretty much the same on both no real difference

Rainbow 6 vegas 1 360 is supposed to be better
R6V2 again 360 supposed to better but by a smaller margain than R6V

Timeshift 360 better ive heard, but wouldnt bother with either anyway lol

Get the GOTY version for the PS3 includes all the DLC, the PS3 is also the better version, smoother framerate better draw distance, fewer and shorter loading times.

I have played all of those on both consoles with the exception of Timeshift, all are pretty much identical on both, Oblivion is better on PS3 (load times and visuals), Vegas2 is better on 360 (frame rate and shadows), so go with whatever controller suits you better and what your mates have so you can play online with them.

I can't really comment as I don't own both consoles but for something like COD4 look at which format all of your friends are playing it on before making a decision.
 
So you don't actually own a ps3 anymore? So why do you care ?:confused::confused:

Unless by replace you just mean add to which would be a fairly odd use of the word?!
 
COD 4 - 360, but its 6 and two 3s to be honest
Rainbow Six Vegas - PS3, graphics are crisper
Rainbow Six Vegas 2 - PS3, graphics are crisper
Timeshift - Dont know
Oblivian - Dont know

Timeshift - only played the PS3 version so can't comment

Depends on what you class as ‘better’, I can only assume graphics, in which case there’s probably very little difference. Personally I can only comment on one game, as I have it for both my 360 and PS3, and that's CoD4:

In terms of graphics, the PS3 version is better, it’s hard to explain, but I’ll waffle on and see what comes out.

I find [what I presume is] the HDR blur on the 360 seems a little over done, and I often find myself noticing poor blocky looking textures around the HDR – I get nothing like this on the PS3, it looks decent all the time.

All other opinions I have are just personal preference, formed from actually playing on both machines, rather than having any allegiance, so you can take the above as an honest observation; but will no doubt get the fan boys and girls arguing.
